Experimental investigations on diesel engine using alumina nanoparticle fuel additive

Experimental work was done to examine the impact of diesel fuel with alumina nanoparticles on combustion characteristics, emissions and performance engine. Alumina were mixed crude in various weight fractions 20, 30, 40 mg/L. The engine tests showed that nano addition ppm pure led thermal efficiency enhancement up 5.5% related fuel. average specific consumption decrease about neat found be 3.5%, 4.5%, at dosing levels ppm, respectively full load. Emissions smoke, HC, CO, NO X get diminished by 17%, 25%, 30%, 33%, nano-additive operation. smaller size produce stability prevents atomization problems clogging injectors. increase nanoparticle percentage produced increases cylinder pressure, temperature, heat release rate but decreases ignition delay duration shown. concentration is recommended for achieving optimum improvements engine’s combustion, emission characteristics.
